THE CULT – NEW SINGLE “EVERYMAN AND WOMAN IS A STAR” RELEASED BY NEW WILDERNESS/ADERRA EXCLUSIVELY AT iTUNES ON AUGUST 1, 2010

The CULT New Single Available at iTunes

Update:  Here is the direct link to the song oniTunes: CLICK HERE
The Cult return with their first studio recording in three years, “Everyman and Woman is a Star”. Produced by Chris Goss (Masters of Reality, Queens of the Stone Age), the track captures the thunder of their live show and the fire of their classic hits such as “She Sells Sanctuary” and “Wildflower”.

Location, Los Angeles, CA – As fans anticipate The Cult’s upcoming performance at The Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth on August 1, 2010, the band has announced the release of their first new studio recording since 2007, “Everyman and Woman is a Star”. The new single is being released as a two-week exclusive through the iTunes store.

Rock fans worldwide will immediately recognize Billy Duffy’s blistering guitars and Ian Astbury’s powerful vocals soaring over a relentless beat. This is the lead off track of a four song “Capsule” scheduled to be released in fall of 2010. As a thank you to fans for their support, limited edition “Cult Destroy Knebworth” shirts will be distributed as the band take the stage at Sonisphere on August 1st.

"The latest recordings from The Cult, guided by Legendary producer Chris Goss, are a mixture of violent guitars, emotive vocal performances with high melody and driving beats. Textured metaphysical rock music for the contemporary music head.” - Ian Astbury, Singer, The Cult

Rather than revisit the traditional method of releasing a long form CD, The Cult is getting new material to fans in the form of a “Capsule” a collection of not just new music, but film, art and fashion. The “Capsule” will span across multiple media formats including vinyl, digital, USB, CD and DVD formats. The first opportunity fans will get to hear “Everyman and Woman is a Star”, outside of seeing the band live, is through an exclusive distribution through Apple’s iTunes store.

This new release is a partnership between the band’s New Wilderness label and media pioneers Aderra. In 2009, Aderra recorded several live shows on the band’s U.S. and European tours including a sold out appearance at The Royal Albert Hall in London. The live recordings were released exclusively through a USB flash drive housed in a dog tag necklace. The success of this initial project lead to this partnership to release the new Capsule material on multiple formats. http://aderra.net

July 22, 2010 - Live Performance video streamed direct to USB Flash Drive

Music filled the Aderra offices on Thursday July 22. We invited rock band Killola in to play live for all of the fans who bought their USB Flash Drive album.
Using our new PushOvr™ Technology we streamed live video of the band playing direct to a gateway on the USB. The show was exclusively available to USB owners. A few fans even filmed themselves watching like this. We have recorded thousands of live concerts on jump drives in the past few years but this is an entirely new experience streaming video to inside a flash drive. PushOvr creates a tunnel directly from the band to the fans that can only be accessed via an Aderra USB drive.

Aderra PushOvr™ technology powers: World's first ever Live performance streamed to inside an album.

Announcing PushOvr™.
Los Angeles, CA – In what could signal the breaking down of the wall between artists and their fans, SoCal garage-pop rockers KILLOLA (www.killola.com) have joined forces with Aderra, Inc. (www.aderra.net) to create a multi-media, living and breathing electronic “umbilical cord” that instantly connects the creative process with the audience. Embracing USB/internet technology in a very fashion-forward manner, Killola and Aderra have introduced an immediate connection with their fans who purchase “Killola Dogtags” either from the band’s merch table while on the road or via the band’s website. While the dog tag may look like a mere trendy fan accoutrement with the band’s logo etched into the surface, it transforms into a matrix of ever-expanding music and video content when jacked into a computer. "Fearless Killola is forward thinking and dedicated to their fans,” affirms Aderra president Edward Donnelly. “Each time we introduce a new facet of our technology, they take full advantage and push it to the limit to create something that connects them directly to their fans."

Aderra, Inc. has been recording live concerts on USB drives for artists of all genres, such as Lady Gaga, Metallica, OK Go, The Pixies, David Guetta, Brian Wilson, and David Gray, but Killola is one of the first bands to embrace Aderra’s new PushOvr™ technology and take it even further. Instead of static MP3s and unevolving digital files that keep fans in anticipation for a band’s new album or recorded music, Killola will create a fluid and growing bridge between themselves and their fans, releasing new music and live performances AS THEY HAPPEN.

Fans who purchase the Killola USB dogtag receive not only the band’s new album, Let’s Get Associated, but also their previous studio albums (Louder! Louder! [2006] and I Am The Messer [2008]). In addition, when fans plug the USB drive into their computer, they also receive exclusive updates from the band including new songs, remixes, live recordings, music videos and photos. For example, once the band feels that a new song is ready to be sent to their fans, they can upload it onto their USB network, which then distributes it instantly to USB owners. “It’s not just MP3 files on a disk,” explains Killola frontwoman Lisa Rieffel. “The USB drive is interactive. It has sounds, pages, navigation, pictures, HD videos, hidden easter-eggs, and 'living' content. You can click through the Killola USB album for a good hour, just finding stuff and geeking-out on the experience.” Planned for debut on Thursday, July 22nd is the first streaming video of a “truly” live performance, which will be broadcast simultaneously worldwide and accessible only to fans with the USB. Let’s Get Associated will also be available via physical CD on August 10th, and digital distribution channels such as iTunes.

About Killola
Building on their Sparks-meets-The Stooges blend of pop-conscious garage rock is the independent band’s third full-length, Let’s Get Associated, which the band will self-release on August 10th. Recorded with producer Luke Tierney at Laurel Ceezy Studios, Let’s Get Associated features the single “Cracks In The Armor,” a bouncey gem that spawned an innovative video, which the band admits “looks like the Muppets, underwater on mescaline.” (http://tinyurl.com/yfns945). Not content with writing only the album, Killola also wrote the music for the upcoming feature-length musical film Girltrash: All Night Long, written by Angela Robinson (Showtime’s The L Word, HBO’s Hung), which stars Rieffel alongside Gabrielle Christian (South of Nowhere), Michelle Lombardo (Entourage, Quarterlife), Mandy Musgrave (South of Nowhere), Rose Rollins (The L Word), Kate French (One Tree Hill) and Clementine Ford (The L Word). In support of the new album, Killola have announced an album release show at West Hollywood’s Viper Room on July 15th, as well as a month’s worth of tour dates. See all tour dates below.

PAT DINIZIO OF THE SMITHEREENS’ “CONFESSIONS OF A ROCKSTAR” THE FIRST ROCK AND ROLL AUDIOBOOK, VIDEO DOCUMENTARY AND LIVE CONCERT RECORDING RELEASED EXCLUSIVELY ON ADERRA USB FLASH DRIVE.

Location, LOS ANGELES, CA - In the Mid-80’s, MTV, laden with hair metal and endless MJ repeats, was shaken awake by The Smithereens who provided a fresh blast of 60’s driven pop fueled by roaring Rickenbacker guitars to adoring fans worldwide. Launching a salvo of classic cuts such as “Blood and Roses”, “Behind the Wall of Sleep”, “Only a Memory”, “Yesterday Girl”, and “A Girl Like You” across the bow of the dull, clichĂ© hits of the era, the band won a hardcore loyal following. But behind the leather jackets, rock and roll swagger and blistering Marshall amps beat the heart of a true American songsmith, informed as much by the Beat poets as by the Beatles and Bacharach. Pat Dinizio wrote those songs and lived them out every single day of his life. That story is now available for the first time ever on a limited edition signed and numbered USB flash drive from Aderra. http://patdinizio.com

For the first time he has opened up and shared the exhilarating highs and tragic lows of his life as a rockstar in his new audiobook, “Confessions of a Rockstar”. Over the course of 85 chapters, Pat tells the tale of the rise of the Smithereens from their humble day jobs collecting trash in New Jersey to constant rotation on MTV and playing as the featured musical guest on Saturday Night Live. In between, he divulges the inspiration and history of his greatest songs. Included are 30 recordings of classic Pat Dinizo songs including some of his original demos of the Smithereens classic tracks.

“This is perhaps the most forward-thinking and revolutionary musical project I have been involved in to date. This is the future.“ - Pat Dinizio Singer/Songwriter/Founder, The Smithereens, Author “Confessions of a Rockstar”.

This release isn’t just an audiobook, it’s a full length video documentary as well. Watch intimate insights from Pat as he delves even further into the history of the Smithereens and their interaction with other luminaries such as the Ramones, Belinda Carlisle, Lou Reed, Squeeze, UB40, Ozzy Osbourne.

“We are so proud to be working with Pat. Using our digital distribution technology to connect one of the most important songwriters of the past thirty years to his fans is an absolute honor” – Ed Donnelly, President http://aderra.net

This historic release is not just about the story of the Smithereens as much as it is about the present and future for Pat Dinizio. Along with the rock and roll audiobook and full length video documentary is a Live Concert USB recorded in February of 2010 by Aderra. Aderra provides cutting edge technology to get music and more in the hands of fans.

Killola Partners with Aderra for new tour with Live USB Recordings

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 22, 2010

How many ways does Killola kick butt? Let’s count. First, they “freeleased” their entire 2nd album… Second, they’re one of the bands that’s revitalized the LA rock scene. Third, lead singer Lisa Rieffel is smokin’.– Los Angeles Times

This DIY band is going places… You’ll need to brace yourself for the drool-able Lisa Rieffel, who blazes over Sparks-like tracks like she just gave Gwen Stefani a bloody nose.” – LA Weekly

ANNOUNCE US TOUR DATES AND NEW ALBUM
Killola Produce, Write Music for Upcoming Musical Film “Girltrash: All Night Long”
KILLOLA (credit: Thaddeus Bridwell)

Los Angeles, CA – SoCal-based garage-pop quartet KILLOLA (www.killola.com), who recently partnered with digital distribution and live recording specialists, Aderra, Inc., announced dates for its Buy The Milk tour, a five-week outing in support of the upcoming, self-released album LET'S GET ASSOCIATED. The group are also producers for the upcoming feature-length film Girltrash: All Night Long (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1555440/) and are writing the music for the film’s narrative. See all tour dates below.

Killola have been garnering nationwide attention not only for their work ethic but also for their Sparks-meets-The Stooges blend of pop-conscious garage rock. Having self-released physical editions of their debut Louder, Louder! and the combination CD/DVD Live in Hollywood, the band has also given away a free download of their UK tour DVD and their sophomore album, I Am The Messer, which has received over 100,000 downloads through a free-download viral partnership with Skullcandy, one of the largest manufacturers of headphones and audio products. URB, Rhapsody, MTV.com, Pollstar, as well as UK publications Classic Rock Magazine and ArtRocker recognize Killola’s persistence and great music, leaving Alternative Press to comment,“For a band who operate out of their garage in Los Angeles, Killola have accomplished more than entire ZIP code’s worth of garage bands.

The video for Killola’s first single “Cracks In The Armor,” which “looks like the Muppets, underwater on mescaline,” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuybQTdwWyg&fmt=22) is available for purchase on iTunes as well as the sleazy “I Wanna See Your D*ck,” featuring trash-mouthed rapper Shunda K of Yo! Majesty.

"Touring seems like a sweaty blur of loud, dark nights with a million friends. So every time we get back to LA, we make plans to do it again because the blurred tour recollection is like a seductress," says vocalist Lisa Rieffel. "We just keep going back to her."

The live Killola show is quite seductive itself: non-ending smashy rock-riffs peppered with skin and pop melody. Killola is no stranger to technology and is 100 percent web-pervasive. In 2006, the band was one of the first acts to release an album via USB flash drive via tech-company Aderra. Killola is teaming up again with Aderra (www.aderra.net), who will provide tour services for Killola including a physical and online merchandise booth at select shows. “We are psyched to be headed out on the road with Killola, the first act we ever recorded live,” says Ed Donnelly, President of Aderra. He says, "They played a pivotal role in developing our instant concert recording system. Unlike other tech companies that are trapped in cyber space, our technology takes us right to the front row side by side with the fans." Aderra provides cutting edge technology for touring artists, recording and delivering live shows to fans as they leave the club or directly to their mobile phone. Donnelly continues, "In addition, we have a range of digital services including providing iPhone apps, web widgets, sponsored downloads and online distribution of both music and merchandise."

With an all-night theme in the vein of films such as Go, Superbad and Dazed And Confused, Girltrash: All Night Long was written by Angela Robinson, producer/writer of The L Word (Showtime) and Hung (HBO). Girltrash: All Night Long tells the story of five girls and one epic night (based on the wildly popular Showtime web-series Girltrash!). Killola vocalist Lisa Rieffel leads the cast on screen, acting alongside Gabrielle Christian (South of Nowhere), Michelle Lombardo (Entourage, Quarterlife), Mandy Musgrave (South of Nowhere), Rose Rollins (The L Word), Kate French (One Tree Hill) and Clementine Ford (The L Word).

Killola is Lisa Rieffel (vocals), Johnny Dunn (bass), Mike Ball (guitar) and Dan Grody (drums).
